What happens during the check
Every code is checked with the issuer before anything is credited. Codes are encrypted the moment you submit them, only the staff who process orders can see them, and they are deleted 30 days after the order is done. If a code is valid, the locked amount goes to your balance. If it isn't, you see the reason and pay nothing.
Why Walmart codes get rejected
Walmart cards are rejected when the balance was already spent, when the number or PIN is mistyped, or when the card was never activated at the till. If a card is rejected you pay nothing and see the reason in your order.
